A step towards sustainable aquaculture: Multiobjective feed formulation reduces environmental impacts at feed and farm levels for rainbow trout

چکیده
Aquaculture is growing to meet the increasing demand for aquaculture products but not free of environmental impacts. One solution improve how feed are formulated, limiting impact fish production. Multiobjective (MO) formulation, which aims a compromise between lower cost and impacts, appears be promising reduce footprint The objectives this study were design an eco-friendly trout (ECO-diet) using MO formulation compare its zootechnical performances those commercial (C-diet) containing 16% fishmeal 6.5% oil. changed composition diet greatly, decreased impacts as well price. It increased number ingredients used reduced use oil by half. also led elimination soy products, faba bean, gluten in favour processed animal co-products that have high protein contents low climate change impact. Rapeseed disappeared from ECO-diet due major contribution land use, eutrophication, acidification and, lesser extent, change. Overall, had digestibility, differed little C-diet. Mean body weight after 12 weeks growth did differ significantly obtained with C-diet, analysis curves indicated could lead long term. This observation was consistent intake fed ECO-diet. decrease observed at level farm level, although less so non-renewable energy calculated per kg gain. useful tool production without compromising or necessarily cost.

Fish processing wastes used as feed ingredient for animal feed and aquaculture feed
Fish wastes management has become a global problem from the last years. Dispose of seafood wastes cause environmental pollution. To overcome this issue these unwanted seafood products are used for the formation of animal feed and aquaculture feed. These unwanted products include small fish and those parts of fish which are not used as human food. These unwanted parts include viscera, head, fins...
متن کاملThe Potential for Engineering Enhanced Functional-Feed Soybeans for Sustainable Aquaculture Feed
Aquaculture is the most rapidly growing segment of global animal production that now surpasses wild-capture fisheries production and is continuing to grow 10% annually. Sustainable aquaculture needs to diminish, and progressively eliminate, its dependence on fishmeal-sourced feed from over-harvested fisheries. Sustainable aquafeed sources will need to be primarily of plant-origin. Soybean is cu...

freshwater microalgae and other plant-like organisms. They are used in the production of pharmaceuticals, diet supplements, pigments, and biofuels, and also used as feeds in aquaculture. Phytoplankton are cultured to feed bivalve molluscs (all life stages), the early larval stages of crustaceans, and the zooplankton (e.g., rotifers, copepods) that are used as live food in fish hatcheries. Flage...
متن کاملElimination of chloramphenicol in rainbow trout receiving medicated feed.
Chloramphenicol muscle residue levels in rainbow trout were determined after oral administration of 84 μg kg-1d-1 of chloramphenicol for four days. Samples were taken one day before treatment and for 43 days after the treatment was over. Chloramphenicol was analysed using an in-house enzyme linked immunoassay (ELISA) validated against the criteria of the Commission Decision 2002/657/EC. Validat...
